The new Miniature Nation platform includes a tool called Your Paints (or paint manager), which allows users to keep track of their paint inventory. To make it easier to use, we’ve created a feature that lets users import their collections using a CSV file. This file follows the paintRack export format. paintRack is an excellent app for managing your paints on your mobile phone; it offers a comprehensive list of paints and allows you to create palettes and paint sets based on any color.

As a starting point, you can either export your collection from paintRack or use the template file we’ve provided, which contains some examples. It’s important to note that the paint brand and SKU must be valid, as these are the key pieces of information we use to import and update your paint collection.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to exporting your collection from paintRack and importing it into the Your Paints feature:

  1. Open paintRack on your phone, tap the three horizontal lines in the top right corner, then tap Export library. Select a location to save the file and wait for the export process to finish.

  2. Go to the Miniature Nation website, log in if you’re not already logged in, navigate to the Your Paints option in the left menu, and then click the Import Collection button.

  3. On this page, you can either download the template CSV file to use as a starting point for importing your paints or select the file you exported from paintRack. When you select a file to import, the system validates whether it contains all the required information. If everything is correct, the Import Collection button becomes available. When you click it, the system processes the file and displays the next page.

  4. The Import Results page provides a detailed summary of the import process, showing the filename, total number of paints, total paints imported, total paints updated, and total errors. It includes a section listing all updates made to your paints and a section displaying any errors, such as validation errors that weren’t detected earlier or paints that aren’t yet available on the Miniature Nation platform. You can also download a rejection file with more details about any errors and either attempt the import again or go directly to your paints collection.

Enjoy the Miniature Nation platform and community!
